Colonel Denning State Park - Pennsylvania

At some point I realized why I felt such a draw to photography. It was forcing me to see the beauty in the world; to focus on what’s right. Initially I began taking ugly photos of beautiful things, out of focus flowers and over exposed sunsets. Not to mention most of my sliders lived all the way to the right.

But slowly, as all lasting movements occur, I began to see beyond the beautiful things and peered into a formless, infinite realm of pure beauty. I still marveled at the sun setting over the Susquehanna Water Gap, but I also felt the same reverence during the ephemeral moments and forgotten about things. The way the stop sign lined up with the street light. The way the curtain blew in the breeze.
