After a decade of self aggrandizing rapping and producing, the fire slowly started to wane. I was less and less convinced my music was going to change the world, or even if the world could, or should be changed. Despite creating almost everything myself, my lyrics, beats, graphics and website, my time in music was steeped in negativity.
Now don’t get me wrong, the experiences I had with music were some of the best of my life, but the music itself was merely an outlet for my negative emotions and thoughts. I used it as a medium to point out all that I saw wrong with the world; over-reaching governments, greedy corporations and a complacent, complicit populace. For me, it was a true embracing of the fault finding mind. And it was killing me.
